2nd December: Thoughts from the Cemetery

In the middle of the Cemetery, well it was in the middle when it was opened in 1873, stands the Victorian chapel. On the right hand side you can see the stained glass in the part of the chapel that until recently was never opened to the public. The Friends group now use this for events. It has a lowered ceiling, but if you stand outside at a little distance and stare through on a bright and sunny day, it is possible to see the beautiful colours that are hidden by the ceiling. If you look very closely at the photograph below you can see the line of the false ceiling.
