Woodbury Park Cemetery ablaze in June

After the dreadful fire in May that destroyed the Victorian warehouse adjacent to the cemetery, it is lovely to return to the beauty of nature. I am pleased to report that once again Woodbury Park Cemetery is ablaze. This time in a good way, with colour.

Rhododendrons

Daisies

Wild Geraniums

                                                            Dog Roses

So take a stroll past the Rev. Henry Thomas Austen and find a bench, I have hidden one in a photograph.
Perhaps read a copy of Mansfield Park  {200th Anniversary this year} in preparation for the talk at Tonbridge Library on the 3rd July. You can find the link here :Who likes Fanny Price?

 Foxgloves

Or look above you, the birds are busy surveying the scene aloft a truncated column symbolising the life that was cut short in its prime. Enjoy the season as it changes again.

Or just watch the bees as they climb in and out of the flowers making themselves dizzy and sleepy with pollen.

Or pop along to the free mini beast Safari this Sunday 15th June led by that fascinating explorer of the grass and meadows Dr Ian Beavis.
