My Version of a #Selfie for Breast Cancer

I will not be posting a #Selfie of myself without make-up. I did my own version last night when I took part in an open mic session at Sankeys. I performed a poem dedicated to and about Susie Wallace who is no longer with us due to Breast Cancer. This poem has appeared on my blog before but it was the first time I had stood in front of a microphone to perform a revised version of 'Sorting Susie' and publicity state that I am a writer to mostly strangers. The poem signifies some of those wonderful aspects of Susie that I miss. A contribution was made to Marie Curie Cancer Care. For me, sharing the words that run through my head is just as daring, as I often write without make-up. Hope you all understand.

If anyone is interested in reading the full poem, please comment and I will reveal all.

    1. Think you were travelling Judi. But you may well have missed it.
It was a poem written after we sorted Susie's clothes.

  2. I love the idea of posting the mid editing version - its like being naked - showing mistakes, typos, your first draft - to be edited and embossed with colour and meaning. Well done Caroline and truly inspiring idea. Perhaps pop it on the FB page of our circle and we can all do the same and raise some money that way. xx

    1. Thank you Karen. As writers are we truly ever happy with a piece? That pen is always hovering with the intention to cross through.
