Masks and Metal

The painted face, the gold and the glamour can all hide the real self. Sometimes this is useful and should be encouraged if it helps to overcome a difficult situation.

Sometimes we wear so many masks that the reality can be quite shocking when the real self steps forward.

Reality can then become very black and white and rather painful.

I had a visit to some of the photographs of the last year to try and restore my equilibrium and decided that these two summed up my present feelings.

I love the artistically contorted metal against the white paving stones.

Yet there is still life with the succulents surviving, indeed thriving in such a shallow bowl.
